Bali, Indonesia

here are some pictures and little bit about my travel to Bali

My brother invited me to go to Bali with him last February when I had to painfully declined because of my new full time job. Although I was happy to finally land myself a big girl employment, I was also really sad that I wasn’t able to go. When my brother got back from his vacation, it was the only thing he could talk about and I don’t blame him at all!

on my way to Bali

For half a year, travelling to Bali was all I could think about until one night in September, I decided to finally bite the bullet and buy my round trip flight for the following December. After seeing it with my own eyes and being there first hand, I can fully understand why he felt like he had seen some magical place.

The 30 something hours of journey to get there wasn’t an easy one but I’d do it all over again if I had to.

New Year’s Eve at Kuta Beach

Before leaving Canada, I had some doubts. I began to second guess myself as to why I was travelling when I could be spending the holiday season with my friends but I’m glad I did it anyways. It was by far the best New Year’s Eve I’ve had in ages. Not to mention I met the coolest brothers from Netherlands who were nice enough to let me sit at their table during the dinner party so I wouldn’t feel left out. Thanks Tim and Mark!

Also $10 for a boat ride to watch the dolphins up close and personal wasn’t so bad. It was the most thrilling experience, aside from when I went scuba diving of course.

I also enjoyed the best avocado shakes of my life so yes, I fell in love with Bali. I fell in love with the people, the culture, the history, and the island life.

I’ll be back again.

With love always,

Richmond Night Market

What else is there to do beside eating when a girl is feeling blue and depressed? Nothing!

My friends and I decided to venture to the Richmind Night Market yesterday for some comfort food. Disclaimer: I definitely let go of my diet this weekend because life is so very short.

The first stop that definitely caught my eyes were the vendors selling this big thing of fried chicken.

It is literally twice the size of my face! The seasoning was definitely the bomb (for sure not shy of any msg). The chicken was so big that the lady selling it was having troubles putting it inside the bag.

We also had deep fried mushrooms (uh, yum!) which made me love mushrooms even more.

After about a quarter of that chicken, I was already feeling sick and obviously that meant that it was time for desserts.

My cousin and I decided to split this churro, green tea ice cream dessert. It was delicious but I’m not sure if it’s really worth the $10 we spent on it. However, we definitely got the sugar kick out of it.

We also bought some goodies but I didn’t really consider taking pictures of it. Maybe my cousin will do a review on her face masks she bought? Check out cremedelakem.wordpress.com if you want to see that.

The Law of Attraction

the trouble is in the mind, for the body is only the house for the mind to dwell in, and we put a value on it according to its worth

It’s Thursday and you know what that means? It’s time for some Thursday thoughts!

Today, I want to talk about this whole phenomenon called the Law of Attraction. I have been thinking about it for a couple of days now, since my cousin brought up the idea to me. Apparently it helped her achieved her goals and she wanted to share it with me in hopes that it will help me out in the future.

To anyone who has never heard about the law of attraction, it is the idea that whatever we put out to the universe, positive or negative, is reciprocated back unto us. It is the idea that the universe is listening to our every thought and every word that we speak.

Every time we think “Oh, I can’t possible get this job. I’m not good enough,” the universe hears us and returns it back to us.

It also works the other way. That is the beauty of it. When we start to think of ourselves in a positive light and start putting out positive energy into the universe, we feel our life starting to shift for the better.

I, myself, can vouch for this. For quite some time, I felt the most negative. I always blamed the people around me for their negative energy and almost taught myself that it was their fault that I was always so negative. However, that is not the case. We are responsible for our every thought, action, and energy we put into the universe.

When I started blaming others and taking responsibility for my actions, as well as believing in myself and focusing on all of my goals, I stopped letting myself down. I started thinking, “Your are kind, generous, and you deserve to be happy.” The more I thought about myself in a positive way, the more I noticed my mood began to change for the better. That is because the universe responds to whatever it hears. When it hears our positive thoughts and feels our beaming light of energy, it gives us opportunities and helps us achieves our goal. You want that job? Start believing that you are qualified. Start telling yourself that you will get it. And you know what will happen? You will be one step closer to getting it.

If we keep thinking positive thoughts, we welcome positive things to happen to us. It is simple. The law of attraction is the idea that by focusing on negative or positive things, a person will bring negative or positive experiences to their life.

Travel Thursday

Greetings! I hope everyone is having a fantastic day. It’s Thursday afternoon and I want to talk about travel.

I stayed up until 3am again last night. It seems that I get a lot done during the wee hours of the day.

Anyways, I was brainstorming of all of the places I want to go to in the future. Of course travelling anywhere is nice, but don’t we all have our top places that we want to travel to?

A friend of mine asked me a couple of days ago where I would want to live if I didn’t live in the beautiful and very expensive city of Vancouver. If we are being technical here, I don`t exactly live in Vancouver but I like close enough to know that living cost is through the roof.

Since then, I have realized that there are so many different places that I want to see and possibly fall in love with enough for me to want to move out there.

One of my goal with my life is to travel often and see the world. I want to fall in love with other cities as much as I have fallen in love with Vancouver the first time I moved here from the Philippines.

With that being said, here are the places I want to set foot in before I kick the bucket.

  1. Brazil
  2. Portugal
  3. Indonesia (Bali)
  4. Thailand (Southeast Asia, really)
  5. Germany
  6. England
  7. Spain
  8. Panama
  9. New Zealand
  10. Denmark
  11. Iceland
  12. Czech Republic

If you have been to these countries, let me know where to go or tell me where would you want to go!

Also, let me know what your travel essentials are!
